Yesterday we woke up and went to a restaurant near the Hilton. It claimed to have an American menu. The American breakfast that Chris and Jennifer ate included fried eggs (deep fried), grapes in Nutella(chocolate/peanut butter spread), bacon, and diced peppers. The American continental breakfast that I got had diced up hard boiled egg, multiple slices of provolone cheese, Oscar Meyer ham, toast, and diced peppers and cucumbers. (Right now I can’t stop laughing….Jenny got a Czech version of Sprite it smells and tastes like Deep Woods Off) Okay back to the blog. After the not so American breakfast we met with Mr. Deem. Jenny and Chris worked up a brief ad for the local newspaper and I had it translated in Czech by one of the women working at the Hilton. Jenny also made a flyer to post and hand out in the city. We went to have them printed at a XERTEC (Xerox) for 1/3 the price the Hilton was charging. Our next stop…put more minutes on our phone. After we accomplished this task we went to find the building for the local paper. It was locked up…must have been closed. Already exhausted from our walking we rested on a bench with a bronzed manikin. We were so exhausted we were just laying and leaning on him…the passer bys just laughed and pointed. We then had plans to meet at the Bohemian Bagel (American Owned) to have our first American meal…this includes cheeseburgers and Philly-cheese steaks. (And our rap music is very popular and plays everywhere; Snoop Dog concert posters all over the Metro) We discussed another plan of approach; and Mr. Deem had us starting to think of our next excursion…..looks like Poland. He was going to meet with KPMG here in Prague to see if any business leads could be found. After eating we found the HOLY GRAIL free Wi-Fi at a quaint shop. It had everything from fresh pastries, gelato, and ice cream to cold beer, great wine, and champagne. In lieu of the celebration I bought a bottle of champagne ($8) and we began to call loved ones at home and check email. (We still cannot send mail consistently). We then went to the local grocery store to buy essentials. Especially sugar…yesterday I bought what I thought was sugar and ended up with Atlantic Ocean hot tea. Yes a bag with a label of smiling faces and laughter…simply salt. Then Jenny pointed out…hey we have a girl with an umbrella for our salt. I agreed no correlation…. I miss everyone at home, especially Mom, Dad, brothers, and Elisa. Always in my prayers!
Love reading about your advetures and being able to read about your days. The ad is in…hope and pray leads will generate. Its still early. I know you are anxious to, “get to work” Keep the faith. The Lord has it all in control. Many ask about you and send thier best your way. You may not be getting comments because the comment box doesn’t show letters when you type, which is confusing.
*For anyone reading this, type in the box anyway even tho you cannot see and it will post. We love you and can hardly wait to have you back here. I will have your favorite dinner on the table:)
