Last night the three of us hit the town alongside Mr. Deem to explore the world of the human body. As a break from the norm, we decided that a biology lesson was a great idea to make our Wed evening complete. There is an exhibition called “Bodies” that is travelling around the world that is currently showing in Prague. The fascinating thing about this exhibition is that all of the exhibits are not your typical plastic replicas of various body parts, but rather actual human bodies that have been preserved through a new scientific method.
Each exhibit was incredibly life-like, almost enough to make you want to jump out of your own skin. Every inch of the human body was on exhibit. Each one was positioned differently emphasizing how different muscles worked. Having studied anatomy and biology, I found this to be quite exciting. There were short little blurbs posted around the exhibition hall with interesting facts about each of the different sections you encountered. I think the most prominent fact said something to the effect of “On average, every pack of cigarettes you smoke deducts 2.5 hours off your life.” Interestingly this blurb hung over a large glass container which had an insert for people to deposit packs of cigarettes if they so choose. The container was about 1/10 full and being laughed at by a few teenagers passing by, which I found slightly disturbing.
On a less anatomical note, our home is finally a home. We have finally moved out of temporary dwelling into an apartment of our own and couldn’t be happier. It has been a week now of living out of the suitcase which has been rather frustrating for everyone. Oddly enough it took us three trips to haul all of our belongings from one place to the other. At this rate we’ll need our own personal jet to get all of our stuff back to the states.
The new place is very similar in layout and style with the exception of a wall splitting the apartment into two large rooms. This will give us guys some privacy from “the girl” who eagerly awaits female company. Hurry Hannah! The living quarters should alleviate the stress of everyone living in one big room. Strike that. The walls are just as thin in this apartment as the last. Jen’s jump jiving and wailing is louder in the next room than the audio Aaron is listening to three feet from his head. Yes, even with all windows and doors closed. Welcome to the wonderful world of ear plugs :)
So happy to hear that all is well in Prage and you sound like everyday is a new adventure. Stay well —Stay Happy. So great to be young, footloose and fancy free! Love ya![]()
