Monday, July 2...This morning we had an opportunity to sleep in a bit. We waited in the apartment until 1:00 p.m. for the maintenance guy to show up and put our washing machine and stove/oven together. I mentioned that it really wasn’t necessary to put these things together because we wanted to move to our intended apartment. I guess the contract on the original apartment has not gone through…they were buying the flat and the paperwork hasn’t been processed, so in the mean time we are staying in someone else’s flat until they return. We should be moving tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. We then headed to our quaint little coffee shop and bought some gelato and I created a yahoo account because none of my other mail servers work here. Chris and I posted our ad on the Prague Post online and emailed a copy to the editor to see if we could get it printed in the paper. She needed to do a character count to price. Jen is great with computers, she has so many neat applications for just about anything; I attempted to call a few people through the computer…but we ran out of minutes. Back to the embassy…Mr. Deem had met us and mentioned that one of the foreign investors had responded back in regards to coming to Prague for some business consulting. A draft was made and we had it mailed off. Apparently we are very fortunate in the U.S. we can travel just about anywhere; however those in other countries have a more difficult time. With proper/original documentation she may be able to come. Then it was off to the Bodies exhibit. We observed multiple cadavers preserved in a plastic polymer so that we could see all the circulatory, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems. Any way you could dice a human and in every stage of life. Seeing the difference between an 8 week old fetus and a 14 week fetus was huge. And the difference between the 14 and 30 week was astounding. Off to diner now…we found an Italian restaurant where we all had appetites but Jen.
