We all arrived together at Norfolk International Airport at 1:15 to get an early check-in and a bite to eat prior to our 3:25 departure. After a prayer, we continued down the gate and proceeded to enter the plane. Bad weather in Newark…we were on the runway for one hour! Once we arrived in Newark we just made it by 5 minutes. Our flight was smooth as we entered Zurich. Once we landed the intercom cued up and asked that Adon Kelley, Lang-ely, and Wooodworth please see the representatives immediately. A lady met us at the door and had us run behind her….telling us we had 7 minutes before the plane was to leave for Prague and we still had to go through security. Once on the plane, terrible storm grounded us on the runway for a while. We arrived at Prague international to find out that Jennifer and I had to move ahead without our luggage. Hannah had arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport…. There must not be speed limits here (or at least not for Mercedes screaming past other motorists). We arrived at our complex where we were dropped off to find our complex was under construction. Luckily a couple construction workers were able to find our Czech contact Martin. Once we arrived at our room, we waited until they could move us to a better apartment. We decided to go to the grocery store. AMAZING… liter water was our equivalent to $.50, chips $.05, and everything you needed in what appeared to be a basement of an apartment complex. We then went to find a meal. We found a great restaurant underneath a bowling alley. The food was amazing, I had a full rack of ribs with sour kraut and sliced salmon with a dill spread for approximately $11. I honestly couldn’t tell you what Chris or Jennifer was eating but it was good. Upon arriving back at the apartment one of our contacts had told us that the airport called and was dropping off the lost luggage. And we were being moved to another apartment. We regrouped and repacked and found a better apartment with a dining room table, TV, AC, and 4 beds as opposed to two. He told us the one of the American Idols had won the apartment for one year and we could have it for the week. Jens luggage showed up…mine is still lost in transit…The rain is coming down and all are sleeping…I guess I should join in and do the same.
