This morning we all woke up around 5:15 a.m. our time….that would be 11:15 p.m. your time! We immediately showered, dressed and headed out to find the metro. I should say figure out the metro. After aimlessly heading in differing directions and not getting our boarding passes stamped, we figured it all out. Being Regent MBA’s there is no wonder (that we figured it out, not got confused :P). Our mission was to find Mr. Deem; our contact helping us here in Prague. He had no way of reaching us and we had no way of reaching him. After reaching the Hilton we found out where Americans stay when visiting Prague, it felt like an Embassy. We found Mr. Deem and had breakfast. We began to implement our plan to solidify business buy first finding the local Prague business paper and obtaining contact info. Now we can place an article in the local paper for those who are interested can contact us. We also cordially sent an invite to a few contacts in other countries who wanted to meet with us in Prague to start businesses here. We then found an English tour of the city (2hrs) Upon getting out of the tour van the rain began to pour. Jen then realized she had left her camera on the van. We quickly found shelter in a restaurant that was definitely price for the affluent; we obviously only fit in with our language and nothing else. We soon also learned how the use the payphones here. Jen found a number to find her camera and they will hold onto it for pick up tomorrow at 9:30. I also contacted Martin, praise God my luggage was delivered to him. We where 400 meters from Martin and had 15 minutes to find him before he left for the weekend. Running…we now learned how to read maps we couldn’t read all day…definitely of the Lord there. The best part of the day was when Martin found a taxi for us that only cost 150 Kc approximately $7.50. Yes! Without hesitation. We met Jovan, during the ride, I noticed Mary and baby Jesus on his dash with a cross hanging from the rearview. I asked him where he went to church. He told us he was Russian Orthodox and that he was not Czech but from Yugoslavia. He began to tell Jennifer that he doesn’t eat meat or drink milk on Fridays. He was trying to express the notion that it was a sacrifice to the Lord. He asked what we were doing in Czech. We told him we were recent graduates of a Christian University in the States called Regent and we planned to help developing small businesses. He simply couldn’t understand why Czech Republic…Why not somewhere else. He said the people here do not believe in God and will not respect what you are doing for them. They believe Christmas is just a day off for gifts. I told him this was our sacrifice like his giving up meat. He again asked why here; Jen explained to him you could either go where you are comfortable or go out of your comfort zone. Christians should go where there are no Christians to be light for others. He told us of his family and how amazed he is with America and their reverence for Christ. He told us he loved the fact that our currency states “In God we trust”. I asked him why others found Americans as a problem. He said that Americans tend to be honest…they pay a bill when asked and are willing to pay for services rendered where many native Czechs negotiate prices and/or do not pay because there is a very weak legal structure. Even the phone booth had writing on it AMERICANS=OCCUPANTS; F*%# OFF; BUSH=D*%K, there is graffiti everywhere. I could then see what the drivers was saying and how it may be a plausible opinion. Keep us in your prayers that opportunities will rise….

My friend, Lori Young, told me about your trip. I will hold you in my prayers and ask that my church family do the same. I pray that God will give you many opportunities to share the good news of the gospel and that the seeds you plant will grow and flourish.
In Christian Love,
